He apologized for not following the rules he passed! Under the ordinance he passed years ago it "gave" citizens 5 minutes to speak. Unfortunately the mayor forgot so he limited citizens to 3 minutes. When 125 people show up to oppose an agenda item he cheated us of 2 hours of opposition speech. If you're on Facebook please consider joining the FWB Watch Group and I'd really appreciate you liking my T. Payne Walker For Fort Walton Beach City Council Page. While the greatest compliment/support is your support by voting for me I greatly also appreciate words of encouragement and just hearing from other citizens who love Fort Walton Beach. If you'd like to support in other ways I can deliver you a yard sign(s) and deliver or email you my Campaign flyer and the petitions we are working on to get on the ballot in an upcoming special election. You can share with others interested in Fort Walton Beach city government.

Silencing the People part 3
Why would a city council want to silence opposition speech?
Part 2
Videos from October 2019 made as I was becoming more aware of the means and methods Fort Walton Beach City was using to get the fire assessment fee through under the radar. After several previous attempts by previous council and no success they resorted to basically trying to hide it by calling it a fee, not a tax. Full steam ahead from that point on. I believe they figured it was on the agenda and if taxpayers weren’t paying attention it would go smoothly. They figured wrong but that still didn’t stop them. Overwhelming opposition to the fee was presented prior to and at the meeting yet they passed it anyway.
